What a quiet day. We have another graduation party to attend tonight. Two parties in two days... my, my, aren't we wild? Had to make a little art today between chores. I soldered gary's pendant, too. Won't he be shocked and awed?
~no, not officially, but the kids are out of school. Time for a sigh of relief... a few minutes off the treadmill. The weather has been heavenly, but so dry. Stage 3 water rationing begins this week. Makes me thirsty to think about it. I think I am recovering from my post-show lethargy. So much energy goes into preparing for a show that afterwards I need a few days to recover. My next project will be to re-do my studio space. It has become so cluttered. Isn't this riviting reading???

Today I stumble over little miracles, find myself tripped by unseen wonders. I am not as graceful as I am in my dreams, nor as astonished as one might think, but quietly thankful and content to watch the sky, a pale blue sheet where I might write my song.

Art Walk was a great success. What a beautiful day. My sis and daughter hung out with me and we had a delightful time! The crowd seems lighter that last May, but folks were in a shoping mood. Several shop owners are interested in my pendants. I got lots of nibbles for special orders. All in all a very fine day...
I am DONE! Over 150 pendants... Damn, I'm good! LOL! No, I'm not good... just crazy and tired! Art Walk is tomorrow. Hope I can stay awake. Should be a great day... hot and sunny. I must sleep...
I have soldered all but 8 of my pendants!! Hooray! When I work on them for hours at a time I get this nasty pain beneath my left shoulder. Feels like a dagger. I hope to finish up today, then I will work on a few collages that are almost done. Weather looks good for Art Walk. The photo shows about 60 pedants... nearly half of what I have made for this show.
This is the thing- you’ve got no band, no back-up singers, can’t rehearse. Just take out your stuff and make something, hope somebody, somewhere gets it.
Your best bet is to shoot for pretty. Don’t show your friends if it gets too dark or weird. Laugh at yourself. Never act like it could be a sliver of your soul. Just sing out loud and use your hands like some instrument you picked up for a song, like you don’t care who is listening.
Here are a FEW of the pendants I need to solder. I wish I had an assistant for this task. It is not my favorite step in this process. I WILL solder these this week, you hear me? ~grins~
I am a displaced mermaid, washed far ashore in the Dallas 'burbs. Besides the sea, I am enchanted with... art, writing, islands, glitter... and my family, of course.
